NON-SCREW Based Expandable Technology Surgeons and Patients Can Count On
PRESS RELEASE: EXPANDING INNOVATIONS, INC. ANNOUNCES COMMERCIAL LAUNCH OF X-PAC EXPANDABLE LATERAL CAGE SYSTEM
Expanding Innovations, Inc. (EI), an emerging technology leader in the expandable interbody cage sector of the Spine Industry, has announced the full commercial launch of the X-PAC Expandable Lateral Cage System (X-PAC LLIF).
Some of the first procedures utilizing the cage were performed by Dr. Brandon K. Strenge at the Orthopaedic Institute of Western Kentucky. Dr. Strenge commented, “The X-PAC Expandable Lateral cage design incorporates the fundamental lateral interbody fusion principles of indirect decompression and bridging bone fusion. X-PAC’s maximized posterior expansion aids in foraminal height restoration, facilitating indirect decompression. Additionally, the large open architecture and streamlined post packing instrumentation create an ideal endplate-to-endplate fusion column.”
The launch of X-PAC LLIF represents the first in a series of planned commercial releases aimed at expanding the EI portfolio of NON-SCREW based Expandable Cage Technology. The company is actively developing solutions for ALIF, ATP, and Endoscopic procedures, as well as incorporating integrated fixation and hyperlordotic options within the LLIF portfolio.
“We are pleased with the positive feedback and adoption rate observed during our initial market release, as it is consistent with the success of our flagship product, the X-PAC Expandable Posterior Cage System (X-PAC TLIF). We look forward to entering full commercial launch and growth it represents for our company,” said Robert Jaramillo, CEO of Expanding Innovations.
Expanding Innovations, Inc. (EI) developed a revolutionary, NON-SCREW based expandable technology that surgeons and patients can count on. The X-PAC Expandable Cage design replaces the traditional inner cage lifting screw, with a powerful, continuous expansion mechanism, supported by unidirectional locking teeth, for controlled expansion. The EI portfolio includes the X-PAC Expandable Posterior & Lateral Cage Systems, as well as active development of X-PAC ALIF, ATP & ENDO platforms.

PRESS RELEASE: Expanding Innovations, Inc. (EI) announced today that the company has received 510(k) clearance from the FDA for the X-PAC Expandable Lateral Cage System (X-PAC LLIF).
Expanding Innovations, Inc. (EI), a spinal implant company that designs NON-SCREW based expandable cage technology, announced today that the company has received 510(k) clearance from the FDA for the X-PAC Expandable Lateral Cage System (X-PAC LLIF). This approval marks a significant addition to the company’s expandable product portfolio which also includes the company’s flagship X-PAC Expandable Posterior Cage System (X-PAC TLIF).
Dr. K. Brandon Strenge, Orthopaedic Institute of Western Kentucky, said, “The X-PAC Expandable Lateral Cage System is the first implant I have seen that addresses the core principals of lateral lumbar interbody fusion. The maximized posterior expansion facilitates indirect decompression, the open architecture ensures a bridging bone fusion, and the multiple lordotic options allow proper implant selection for restoration of sagittal balance. These benefits, coupled with the ability to insert the cage at a nominal height, then dial it up via controlled expansion, make X-PAC Lateral an exciting and beneficial technology to offer my patients moving forward.”
Expanding Innovations, Inc. (EI) will feature the new X-PAC Expandable Lateral and X-PAC Expandable Posterior Cage Systems at these upcoming 2023 events:
AAOS Annual Meeting- March 7-11th, visit booth #4259
Spine Summit Annual Meeting- March 16-18th, visit booth #229

PRESS RELEASE: Expanding Innovations Attends 2022 NASS
The North American Spine Society (NASS) Annual Conference is always a highly anticipated event, bringing together top surgeons from across the world to share and learn about the latest advancements in spinal surgery. This year, Expanding Innovations (EI) will be showcasing their NON-SCREW based expandable cage technology.
EI has developed a portfolio of revolutionary, NON-SCREW based expandable cages that surgeons and patients can count on. By replacing the traditional inner screw with a powerful, continuous lifting mechanism, supported by robust, unidirectional locking teeth, the X-PAC Cage alleviates the concern of post-operative cage collapse. Attendees will have the opportunity to see this exciting technology in action and learn more about its potential impact on spinal fusion procedures.
Expanding Innovations, Inc. (EI) was founded by a team of healthcare executives with over 65 years of combined R&D, marketing, operations, and commercial distribution expertise in the Spine Industry. The management team came together with the unified goal of working with industry thought leaders to develop and commercialize next-generation technology with the sole intent of improving patient outcomes.
